Our Patron Saint

Saint Theodora of Vasta

She is our patron saint. We honor Saint Theodora of Vasta, the beloved Greek Orthodox saint from Megalopoli, Greece, whose humble chapel stands as a living miracle.

From the roof of her small stone church, seventeen oak trees grow, yet no roots can be found within its walls or beneath its foundation — a divine sign of faith deeply rooted in love and sacrifice.

Saint Theodora’s steadfast devotion, humility, and courage inspire Sparrow’s Oak. Her miracle reminds us that when faith takes root, even the smallest seed — or sparrow — can grow into something strong and enduring in Christ.

“They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.” — Isaiah 61:3
