Sparrow’s Oak Summer Day Camp

Our Programs

Each morning at Sparrow’s Oak begins in prayer — with the lighting of a candle, the chanting of a hymn, and the quiet rhythm of reflection.

Campers rotate through faith-centered sessions that balance creativity, movement, worship, and rest. Each day at Sparrow’s Oak is filled with faith, friendship, and creativity — where every activity connects hearts to Christ through play, worship, and wonder.

Daily Sessions

Church Exploration & Chanting

Children explore the sacred beauty of Orthodox worship through hands-on learning in the church. They discover the meaning of icons, candles, and vestments and learn how every symbol points to Christ. Guided by clergy and volunteers, campers also practice simple hymns and prayers, joining their voices in the timeless rhythm of Orthodox worship.
“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” — Psalm 150:6

Sports & Games

Faith and fun go hand in hand in these active sessions filled with outdoor and gym games, teamwork challenges, and joyful competitions. Campers learn the importance of encouragement, perseverance, and humility in victory. Every game ends in prayer and gratitude for God’s gifts of strength and friendship. “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” — 1 Corinthians 10:31

The Ultimate Maker’s Space

A creative workshop where imagination meets faith. Campers rotate through ceramics, tie-dye, gardening, sewing, and up-cycled projects — learning that creativity is one of God’s greatest gifts. Each project connects to a biblical lesson about how God transforms our lives through His love. “We are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.” — Ephesians 2:10

The Game Room

A space to unplug, laugh, and make new friends. Through puzzles, board games, and group challenges, campers practice patience, fairness, and joy in fellowship. Every moment of laughter reminds them that Christian life is meant to be joyful and shared. “A cheerful heart is good medicine.” — Proverbs 17:22

The Book Nook

A peaceful retreat filled with bean bags and children’s Bibles. Campers listen to parables and Bible stories that nurture reflection and peace, discovering that God’s Word brings calm and strength. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105

Bible Study

The spiritual heart of every day. Using The Adventure Bible and age-appropriate materials, campers learn about Jesus’s miracles, His Resurrection, and His call to love others. Lessons also cover the Feasts of Theophany and Dormition, the Lord’s Prayer, and John 3:16.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son.” — John 3:16

Kids Kitchen

Where faith and flavor come together! Campers roll up their sleeves and learn to prepare simple, healthy meals while practicing teamwork, creativity, and gratitude. Every dish becomes a lesson in sharing God’s blessings and serving others with love.

Kids Café

A sweet space filled with laughter, sprinkles, and kindness! Campers bake cookies, cupcakes, and other delicious treats while learning patience and joy through baking. Each creation reminds them that life — like dessert — is meant to be shared.

Snack Shack

Bright, refreshing, and bursting with fun! Campers blend fruit, ice, and creativity to make their own smoothies, refreshers, and sorbets. As they stir and taste, they learn that God’s goodness is as refreshing as a cool summer day.

Ice Cream Shack

The happiest corner of camp! Campers serve and enjoy ice cream sundaes, build community, and share smiles with friends. It’s a joyful time to celebrate fellowship, friendship, and the sweetness of God’s love.

An exciting, faith-filled competition where campers team up for a Nerf or Lazer Tag challenge inspired by Ephesians 6:10–18. Independence Day Celebration

A red, white, and blue day filled with gratitude for both faith and freedom! Campers enjoy patriotic crafts, outdoor games, and lessons about unity, service, and thankfulness. We pray for our nation’s leaders and all who serve. We stand for the flag and kneel for the Cross.
