Sparrow Oak Post
Sparrow Oak Post
Each morning at Sparrow’s Oak begins in prayer — with the lighting of a candle, the chanting of a hymn, and the quiet rhythm of reflection.
Campers rotate through faith-centered sessions that balance creativity, movement, worship, and rest. Each day at Sparrow’s Oak is filled with faith, friendship, and creativity — where every activity connects hearts to Christ through play, worship, and wonder.
The Sparrow’s Oak Journal is a faith-based blog by Sparrow’s Oak, sharing reflections and resources to help families live out the Orthodox Christian faith in daily life. Through stories of camp life, parish connections, and family traditions, we celebrate the beauty of faith, family, and growth rooted in Christ.
Extending the mission of Sparrow’s Oak beyond the summer season, the Journal offers Orthodox-centered reflections that encourage families to bring the spirit of camp and community into their homes. Each post seeks to nurture childlike faith and love, reminding us of the simple and everlasting truth—Jesus loves us—while fostering connection, gratitude, and lifelong faith formation within everyday family life.
“Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
— Matthew 19:14
In Orthodoxy, that longing to “know the Jesus who loves me” is exactly what the whole journey of faith is meant to be — a lifelong deepening of relationship, not just knowledge.
